hey perry i have a mother colony that is spitting out babies all the time. They usually reproduce when a coral has been damaged or is dying, the inlying tissue will sometimes survive and will reproduce babies from there. Here is my reproducing colony

nope my piece that the babies sprout from is actually only 1/4 of the original coral. The babies grow out on stalks and then they are big enough the pop off the stalk, the tissue that is left will then regrow another fungia. The one i have currently has produced over 15 off spring in 2 years time

Yeah usually the mother dies but parts of it survive and babies grow from that.
