I have this fuzzy algae starting to take over in my tank, but I'm not sure what it is or even if it's more than one type. Any advice is appreciated.

The stuff that looks like Don King's hair looks like green hair algae (GHA) and it looks like some diatoms and I saw a strand of what looks like Chaeto. However none of it looks like it is healthy, is this a new setup? If so, it is normal to get some during your cycle. A good clean up crew can assist in keeping cleaner rock work.
Just remember not to let your nitrates and phosphates get outa whack during this timeframe or your algae issues be become real.

I was away on vacation for 10 days and when I came back that's what I came home to. You're right about the Chaeto, little pieces keep breaking off and finding their way into the main display. As for the other 2, I took a 3/4" racking cane and tried siphoning as much out as I could. I also think your right about the GHA. There were a few patches of it and it resisted being siphoned.

I'm still not sure about the fuzzy stuff. I don't think it's diatoms. It looks more like wispy, cotton candy and is siphoned up easily. I had diatoms during the cycle and this looks nothing like that. I'm not sure if it could possibly be bacterial as nobody seems to have an idea as to what it is.

The tanks is almost 7 months old. Nitrates and phosphates are reading zero (probably tied up in the algae). Parameters are fairly stable (I'm still learning how to dial it in). I have a dosing pump for calcium and alkalinity atm.

Salinity 1.026
Alk 8.6
Calcium 500
Mag 1500
PH 8.2
Temp has been around 80-82 (summer with no central air) but I usually keep it around 78

I'm running carbon in a mesh bag in my sump and GFO in a reactor. I started with half the recommended does and recently bumped up to the recommended starting dose (BRS). I was worried about stripping too much out of the water too quickly.

Rock is Pukani that I did a muriatic acid bath to and a 3 month soak using lanthanum chloride to remove phosphates (maybe the rock is still leeching phosphates?)

Stocking is:
2 Clowns
1 Bangaii Cardinal
1 Cleaner Shrimp
3 Turbo Snails (1 medium, 2 small)
3 Nasarrius Snails

Corals seem happy and are growing:
A few Zoas and Palys
3 Hammers
1 Frogspawn
2 Toadstools
2 GSP Rocks
1 Xenia
1 Acan
1 Blasto
A bunch of random mushrooms

It's a 90 gal with 20 gal sump. About 80 lbs of Pukani. I feed every other day.

Maybe I need to bump up my cleanup crew or up the GFO? Any suggestions?
