So I went to Shedd Aquarium last weekend in Chicago, and now of course I've got new wants for my reef. Has anyone kept a garden eel before? How do they do in captivity? And how reef compatible are they? From what I've read, they only seem to pose a threat to small fish and shrimp.....is that what you have observed? If you haven't seen these guys, they are pretty neat, definitely worth looking at at the aquarium. Thanks

They are cool fish, but I don't much about them. I've heard they are not easy to keep and you need a really deep sandbed. Here is an awesome tank on youtube with several of them. They come in around the 1:45 mark. This tank also has several small red spot cardinals (Apogon Parvulus).

hmmm, hate it when fish get into the plumming. Definitely something to keep in mind.
