Ordered wire clips and a cable controller will play around with making it neat later this week.

Also rock work is not permanent just put all the corals near the bottom for the time being.

Well that was a pain, believe my algae has died. My fault had the light set too high to begin with. :/

Recommendations for ato reservoir? Was looking at trigger, innovative marine or eshopps.

Can i use a 2.5 gallon dosing container from trigger as one? I dont need 5 or 10 gallons unless on vaca, and i can use a bucket for that

Took down the 20 gallon, cleaned. Will throw a hob filter on it when ready to qt new additions. Cut the frame for screen top. Turned on the carbon/gfo reactor. Will test phosphate every 3 days till its steady in my target range.

Will turn on the bio pellet reactor with 1/5 a cup to start on friday.

Nice filter setup

Thanks! Bioreactor has been up and running, nitrate is currently at 1ppm going for an initial target of .75. But going to monitor for several weeks before adding more pellets. At 1/4 cup atm.

Updates:
actually turning over to ati essentials today. Been going through the remainder of my brs 2 part before switching. Keeping a little bit in case need to make single element adjustments.
Baking the alkalinity portion to turn the baking soda into soda ash.
I want the higher ph counter to my using 24/7 carbon dosing with the biopellets.

Current parameters:
Nitrate .5 ppm
Phosphate .08
Alkalinity 8.25
Calcium 420

Havent done a water change since setup.

Took my gfo offline as hit 0 phosphate.

Dosing is
23 ml alk and ca daily
5 ml of microbacter 7 weekly
5 ml of dr tims waste away weekly
1.5 ml of vibrant weekly.
I dont dose the bio actives together each is 1 day apart.
Vibrant is because even with low nutrients bubble algae retuned, though others have not.

So after driving around to 2 stores for containers for the ATI essentials, neither had them. Ordered online for pick up at the store. So water made will go towards a water change instead.

I did bake the alkalinity portion and mix that part of the ATI.

So Wednesday begins ATI essentials change over.
Will go back to daily alkalinity testing for at least a week.
8 weeks after that first ICP test.

Ati essentials are in!

The moment you hate a cheap doser is when you set 24 dosing times for 3 channels by pushing buttons over and over again.

Flushed all the lines before beginning.

My starting ph is 8.3 on brs 2 part.

I baked the alkalinity portion of the ATI since a large portion of it was baking soda not washing soda.

Hoping this will maintain my ph against the bio pellets as well as the brs.

Also gave in and screwed the sidewalls onto my cabinet that houses my ato, doser and other fish needs. Magnets were not working as planned.

Tank started in 2015 as a 15g long.

Tank started with live fiji rock.

First fish was a purple fire fish that joined the tank several weeks later. Still here :)

Upgraded to a 20g by not long after.

8865ef38389d8d9c8721bdb16e195598.jpg

Added a clownfish in march of 2016 and a another not long after that. For the next year other than snails and hermits the live stock stayed this way.

My first clownfish the one in the picture above was found on the floor in front of my tank. Managed to jump through egg crate somehow.

Changed filtration around a bit since its setup.

Finally started adding coral with purchase of galaxyhydro 165 for $60

At first a green paly
Then a frogspawn
Then a soft flowing thing(later id’d as corky finger)

And there it stayed for a few months. After i felt sufficiently safe that i wasnt killing corals.
I added some sps.

I have also replaced my jumper with a new black and white.

Now that we are in the present, first part of the upgrade is a place for the electronics.

This will be the electronic cabinet and stand for a terrarium. Electronics from both the reef and terrarium will be housed in here and additional storage.

Is that an orchid or dinosaur. Wild

Got him about 6 years ago, crested gecko. They are from New Caledonia, 15-20 year lifespan. As they age progressively eat more fruit than insects.

Are happy at room temperature, moderately high humidity. Primarily food is pangea gecko diet, with insects added as treats. Close to impossible to get all its nutrients without the gecko diet. I actually have only cleaned the glass in its cage in the 6 years, springtails break down the waste, the live ficus takes up the nutrients.

Light is 2 cfl 6500’s, in the winter there is a small substrate heater to keep night time temps in the mid-upper 60’s.

Humidity is maintained by an auto mister.

Keep eye on alkalinity, I use baking wash sparingly , baking sode drops ph for alittle bit, then back up. You should be fine

Thanks for the advice :)

I was hesitant to change dosing lol.

I got my initial dose by taking samples of both brs 2 part what i was using and the ati alkalinity portion, diluting and performing 3 alkalinity tests on each.

Averaged my measurements.

My Brs solution contained 1.84x more alkalinity per ml than the ati solution i mixed.

And adjusted my dosing accordingly.

This morning when i woke up got 8.8 dkh which was the same as my last alkalinity test on 6/1 at the same time. Will test again when i get home tonight and compare to previous measurements at that time.
8.7-9.8 is the range of the H2Ocean salt mix i use. Picked this for alk range that was near my tank, in case need to correct through water changes.

Was going to measure alkalinity daily for at least a week or 2 to make sure its stable and fine tune any adjustments needed.

3 days since change over alkalinity has remained stable and no noticeable drop or increases on ph using 3 daily tests 5:10 am before lights, 5pm during peak, 8:30 pm during ramp down. All points were stable during the 3 day period against their respective times.
Times were chosen by my schedule not my tanks [emoji23]
Next test will be if i see an effect on corals of balling dosing vs water change and regular 2 part dosing.

Did some more testing today, nitrate and phosphate have climbed, the small patches of cyano told me this anyway lol. Alk went up slightly, removed 2 doses of ati a day was 24 now 22.
Added more a few more grams of biopellets. Added the microbacter 7 directly into the reactor this time.

Lowered my lights a touch after taking some par readings with a lux conversion. My corals have survived the move, but growth had lowered. Everything is now in its proper range, started an acclimation cycle at 80% for 30 days.
