Customer's GEM5® lights pulled out of a saltwater sump. Although growth usually grows on a screen or other growth surface, sometimes the growth grabs on to the light itself.

One way to mount GEM5® lights to the side of a DIY waterfall scrubber box. Although the lights come with suction cups that would also work, this box is narrow and the lights put out more PAR (up to 1000 par per light) than any other submersible grow light, so he wanted the lights further away. So some simple eggcrate does the trick.

Hi, I’ve got a rain 2. I’m looking to add two additional gem5 strips (is that what I have lol?).

I can’t find them priced singly to upgrade. I don’t need a power supply.

Perfect. I’ll drop a video here later.

Last question. On the waterfall pipe.

Is that a special fitting and not just 1” slip? (On the supply side of the WF pipe)

I had a hard time getting a water tight seal so I used a bit of Teflon tape.

The pipe itself is just schedule 40 pvc 1". But the hole in the tray that it goes into is not really meant to be water tight because it just drains down to the water below it, or, it is setting directly on the water below it.

I’m referring to the waterfall pipe, water supply side into the base plate.
