Getting back into hobby

Wassup fellow reefers! It has been 13 years since I last had my tank up and running. I need guidance. I used to have a metal halide and actinic light bulbs in a coralife fixture. I’m searching for something in LED powerful enough to create a great shimmer.

It will depend on your tank size for which light will work the best, but as far as "shimmer" kessil is very known for it. My noopsyche also has a nice shimmer

Greetings and welcome to the reef! Choice of lighting will largely depend on three factors: 1) tank dimensions (to include depth), 2) your budget, and 3) what you plan on growing. There are many options to choose from to suit all budgets, and all will grow coral. Many also provide shimmer. I was a Kessil fan boy for many years, but recently replaced the aging A360s on my 180 with 3rd Gen NooPsyche K7 Pros and couldn't be happier.

Noo-Psyche is really good. I have a k7 mini on my ten gallon and it’s working well. I will say that I haven’t put any coral in that tank yet but it is well manufactured and sturdy.

Yeah, many people mistake inexpensive for "cheap". That is NOT the case with these lights.
