What are the preferred brands for GFO? i do not seem to be having success running Phosban Media from TLF's. I was wondering if there is a brand or type that is more commonly used that is perceived to be a better product at removing Phosphates.

Personally I had the best luck with the now discontinued Warner Marine PhosAr ..... but since then I've tried a few and my best results have been had with the BRS HC brand.

I've been having good results with PO4x4 as well. Not to cloud the water but it works well too. But you cannot go wrong with BRS im my opinion.

It all comes from Severn Trent or Bayer Chemical no matter who puts their name on it. There are only a couple manufacturers in the world and I believe they are all in Germany. You may find a different grain size or some is pelletized which I prefer but its really all very similar in the end. We have used it for treating arsenic in drinking water for decades. If I cannot get it from work I use the pelletized version from BRS.

Yep they are all the same so buy the cheapest. I also prefer the pellet.

We use RowaPhos. Tried the BRS HC and it was ok, but switched back to RowaPhos.
