Got my fluval 13.5 set up today. Will document my progress here!

Big thanks to this forum for helping achieve no silt in my sand bed and having a clean first fill up.

I am going to monitor the temp of the tank till tomorrow make sure my heating element is calibrated. Then I'll add bio Spira and dose ammonia to start cycle.

Thinking about upgrading the light as I'm already not a fan of the cover.

Also I have another wave maker (aqamai kps the small one) just not sure where to put it and what to do with the stock flow valve in the tank.

Also think I accidentally uncalibrated my refractometer so whoopsies to that.
But the lfs store said salinity was good.

Decided to upgrade the light right after I made the post. I had marine depot discounts and rewards to make it worth it!

First tests done after adding bio Spira and ammonia on Sunday. Amazon was super late on the tests. Unfortunately I had ordered api's initially so that's what these tests are. Waiting on my salifert tests to double check against.

Nitrites were a HAIR darker than sky blue.
