Here i do the groundbreaking experimental work, before i apply it to the other systems.
Here i decide whether an idea get tossed into the garbage bin or become a potential solution.

What do you do with your surplus of sps corals?

In the waste bin?

Or.... do i use it for something else?

Now i feed them to stubborn bufferflies, that won't accept regular food (yet).
Untill they realize regular food is delicious to..

wow!

That growth on the "garden" tank is insane! I am going to have to read through this to see what you are dosing, water changes, lighting, the params you aim for and etc.

Very very awesome

Glenn's water change schedule in particular is quite interesting. :)

Glenn,

Have you looked into Zinc as something that needs supplementation? Some other folks, like Ehsan, think it is important. I know you don’t dose things you can’t test for, but thought you might have figured out a dosing scheme that might work. Thanks for all of your work!

As long as my coral are growing like crazy i don't feel the need to supplement stuff.
A surplus of Zinc and other heavy metals seems to cause more problems than a deficiency.
Most of those stuff you get for free with fishfood.

Instead of chasing numbers i rather watch coral behaviour. For now many years and many reefs without dosing heavy metals (and without any crashes) the results speaks for itselves.

I do net intent to start dosing zink and those stuff (yet)

Thank you for the prompt reply! I understand completely what you are saying. Makes sense, and I was actually thinking about how we have to watch for too much of a number of metals in compounded fish feed, not add any!

My maintank is nearly 13year without waterchanges. Before softies and some lps.
Since 2012 it took of as a mixed reef with many sps without a single crash.
Any problem i encountered since then was solved #withoutwaterchanges

Thanks m8
m8 = mate. Hey, thats Aussie lingo ;)

Glen, how many
reef aquariums do you personally keep that are Dymico?

Do you think your change to Dymico made much difference to your success.

Lastly, are you familiar with the r2r participant Lasse system?

Cheers m8:p
