I found a 4'x8' sheet of 3/8" clear cast acrylic on Craigslist for $50, then cut my own. I still have about 6x4' left that I will be carrying to my local plastic fabrication shop to cut some panes for a custom ato reservoir that will hide behind the sump
Great looking build, nice cabinetry shop. As a former professional cabinet maker, looks like you definitely have some skills so don't sell yourself short. Great job! Love the sump, and the Kraken is super cool!
Well, after a busy weekend, and subsequent week, I have not been able to get much done. I did however manage to finish my table top, and installed it last night. I'm hoping to have trim done by this weekend, and maybe work on the drain over the weekend... But who knows lol
Been slow going this week. I did manage to install a drain in my stand so any leaks will go in the yard and not on the floor. And I also picked up a 1/3hp chiller from Kurkis (thx bud) and cleaned it out And gave it a face lift
OK guys, been a while since my last update, but I have still been chugging along.
I managed to finish my bookshelves,, stand flooring, and installed my floor drain. Here are a few pics of the progress...
After that I installed my bookshelves, and installed my accent lights
So now the stand is pretty much done. I still have to run 2 lines for the automatic water change station. What is really holding me up is the ATO reservoir. I am custom making my own, and I am waiting on my plastic shop to finish cutting my acrylic, fingers crossed it will be ready by Wednesday. The reservoir is being made to fit discretely behind the sump, so I have to finish it before I can put anything else in. After its done I can finally start moving on to the fun stuff, like plumbing & water
I did manage to swing by Nemo's Reef on Saturday for their 10th anniversary sale and picked up my first inhabitants for the 120. I got a juvenile emperor angelfish, a powder blue tang, a fire shrimp, and a cleaner shrimp all for ~$75!!!!! The fish are in QT now and will remain there until the new tank is up and cycled for at least a month.
