I have a gold headed sleeper goby. I just got 4 feather dusters. My goby keeps moving them to his cave under a rock. Why is he doing this? Should i leave them there or move them? He takes all 4 of them to his cave! I don't want to damage them by continuing to move them out of the cave. Thanks for any advice !

Minutes after my last post, he nabbed 2 more. Caught him in action taking the 4th one to complete his collection. So im either gonna have to put them up on rocks or just let him decorate.
That may be the best thing I have seen all day! Wow.
I think you are going to have to let him decorate. If you glue them, the feather duster may wind up leaving it's tube. Plus, they really prefer to burrow themselves into sand.
Maybe they will form a symbiotic relationship, Mimi will just bring them food?
I'd let it be... you can always get some more FD later and put them in other places. Clearly, Mimi has a feather fetish. Not worth fighting. Just roll with it.

Welcome!
LOL, he's a thief!!!!

When I first got my sleeper he would move my sand from one side to the other, I mean all of it, down to bare glass. After about a month of that he started moving the sand and put it back to normal. He now just has caves under my rock structure. My sand looks so much better!

I almost took him back, my tank was a cloudy mess and i had to move some corals up higher so that they wouldn't get covered.

Wow. @SaltwaterLiz .... I feel your pain. I, too, have a sleeper goby. I will just tell you that they are incredibly stubborn and creatures of habit. We named ours Chernobyl because it is intent on picking up the sand and covering my rock like a nuclear winter. I fought with that fish for months... blowing off rock every day. I finally stopped fighting and waved the white flag of surrender and it met me in the middle. Literally..... instead of crop dusting my whole tank by dropping sand into the wavemakers.... yep, it did that.... it started building a sand mountain in the middle. So long as I leave the sand mountain alone, it leaves the rest of the tank alone. You can try moving those feather dusters to a different place. It may just be that it likes the sand wherever you keep putting them. Otherwise, you may just be in for a constant tug of war while it messes with you for sheer entertainment.
Good luck!!
LOL, ours is named Pig pen, where ever it goes most likely you will find a cloud of dust surrounding it:D

Maybe he wants to bring them in to build out a little structure to his cave, or spice it up with some interior decoration! LOL
