Going to the beach tomorrow

It’s a fireworm. Tons of them when they spawn. They make the beach uninhabitable.

As for politics... it’s crazy. Lots of protests. Hong Kong is basically separate from China. But the local government is trying to get closer to China and the people here are not having it. Lots of clashing between police and protesters. Last week, a mob jumped on a train and started beating protesters up. Sad. A fellow reefer on this forum is on the frontlines as we speak.

I just watched an undercover policeman get beaten to a pulp on live tv. Not sure if he’ll live. Crazy. But anyway, in better news, I took a video the other day from the beach.

I kind of follow Paul B’s method of no qt. I just throw things in. I live and let be. I never have fish deaths. Ever. I do kill corals however :p But I guess it’s just me.

The same for me, in the beginning when I started I QT'd but have stopped . The last fish I put in QT was a CBB, only because of the finicky nature of their eating habits. Once he was eating he went right into the DT. When I go fishing at Jones Beach or the flats and marshes near there I'll bring a little mud back and add it to my tank for some diversity.

Nice video! Not that I had a specific mental image of Hong Kong beaches, but that looks nicer than I was expecting.

What's the plan if things get really bad, like the Chinese military coming in? Are things generally safe if you try to stay out of it?

I literally have no idea. Seems things are picking up traction quick. But I’m still going out for my morning coffee as if everything is normal. Honestly, everything where I am seems normal and calm.

No. Apple prices their stuff the same all over the world. Maybe minor differences here and there but it matches the US price. But no sales tax here so it ends up being a little cheaper. Oddly, they’re made just across the border from us.

Ask away! I used to use VPN just to watch TV and stuff. But I don’t use anymore. When I cross the border to go to China, a lot of apps and websites don’t work so I use a VPN there. But they’ve cracked down on many of them. Anything google like YouTube won’t work in China, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, etc. but they all work fine in HK.

I went to Galveston island beach in Texas and was going to bring home some water or sand and I remembered a few years ago I dug in the sand and had black cuticles for 2 weeks I couldn’t scrub off.
