So weird and random, was swimming around like normal, eating, the entire tank was fine, and I walked by in the afternoon and he was just dead. Swimming normally just an hour before. No marks or spots at all, and all the other fish are fine.

Any of your friends feeding your fish lately? No, honestly sorry for the unexplained loss but it happens I'm this hobby.

Be it known, these are fish that will challenge the most experienced hobbyist and have a high dietary need including sponges, tunicates and worms. While safe for most coral, have a need for good water quality often being a very mature tank. They also spook easily and could have crashed into glass or object. Any bruising on mouth when discovered?
What foods were you offering and was appetite good?

Primarly TDO Chromoboost, and he ate every time the tank was fed (3x a day). 1-2x a week corals get spot fed mysis+benereef, which several of teh fish also like to eat.

I was unaware of it needing a particularly diverse diet, but he was thick and happy.

I am wondering if my last ellusive mantis might have punched him.

Blue hippo, Salifin, 3 yellow tangs, dward red angel, lawnmower blenny, tomini tang, and lots of nasarrius snails, hermit crabs, and two larger snails I cannot remember the name of off the top of my head.

Bryan, I feel your pain. I recently lost my WC Yellowbelly Regal and I'm still scratching my head as he was my favorite fish. Had him about 6 months, no disease, not thin, eating the night before he died. No signs of aggression. The only thing I can attribute this to is dietary as he would exclusively eat fresh clam and strangely wouldn't touch Nori or Algae which I have in abundance. I'll try again after upgrading my tank.
Your Mantis Shrimp is a possibility and diet also. TDO is a quality food. Was he eating Nori or Tank Algae? I would monitor your other fish closely in case of disease. I know that was not the case with mine as it's been 3 weeks an all of my other fish are doing fine.
