Two month frag growth of my red goni after I embedded the frag plug into a flat rock. First photo one month after purchase right before embed, second photo two months after embed. Any questions, just ask.

So many beautiful variations out there. But the one that blows me away the most is the Red Glitter Bomb. The regular Glitter Bomb isn’t too shabby either. I’ll be trying to talk myself into it after I finish my new set-up.

Red goni grows like a weed in my experience. 2 years has grown a thumbnail sized piece to tennis ball (when retracted).

Is it recommended to keep them on rockwork? My frags have just been hanging out on the substrate

I’m not really sure. I’m not an expert. I just did a little experiment where I embedded the frag plug into a flat rock (drilled a hole in it) so it would be a continuous plane for the goni to grow horizontally instead of just growing vertically. Seems to be working OK.

I just picked up a huge frag of green glitter bomb for an absolute steal. I never really had luck with gonis in the past, but so far its been good. Ill grab a picture of it later.

So my LFS told me that these dont last more than 6 months to a year?
This one I have had for about 12 years, there is another piece of it in the tank. It had a very large leather growing over it for a number of years and died back but when I switched tanks over I managed to salvage it.
