Good Morning!

Good Morning. I just got back from my morning walk and I didn't take any pictures. It was early, pouring raining and pitch dark.

Most people here don't know what pitch is but it is like coal. Most people here also won't know what coal is but I used to get it in my Christmas Stocking when I was a kid.

Pitch is the same color as a pencil lead. Most people here won't know what a pencil is so go into your Grand Father's desk drawer and look for a skinny piece of wood with a piece of rubber on one end.

The other end is "lead" which is not actually lead, (that most people also have never seen) it is graphite which is the same color as lead. Google it.

Pencils gradually turned into the computer you are looking at now through a process called evolution.

This old guy, Darwin, invented that term as he was studying a worm. He didn't know it or understand at the time because his mind was on Disco's but that worm had a virus that now may also have gotten into your computer through osmosis.

And life goes on.

Good morning

I actually have one of those skinny pieces of wood with a piece of rubber on one end...right next to my computer! Way back when, my husband took the CPA exam with a pencil and "scratch paper"...anyone remember scratch paper? You could also write in the margins of the test booklet. Calculators were not allowed. It's all computerized now and no longer takes 3 straight days. Times have changed....for the better? Maybe not.

Good morning! The weather is still not looking great in the gulf, but we're leaving tomorrow anyway. Sometimes you just have to get away!

Did you hear about that new band? They named themselves Books so no one can judge them by their covers.

Good morning

from a vendor i got a No.2 yellow pencil with the pink eraser.
the kicker was it was 24" long and 2 1/2" around.
i gave it to my daughter when she went off to college.
she "donated" it to the library/learning center. (grand valley state)
last i heard you can still find it there.

We also didn't have calculators or anything that worked with a battery except a flashlight.
In school on the back page of my notebook (there were not even spiral notebooks then)
I used to write (with a pencil or a fountain pen that you had to fill with ink and it went all over the place, they didn't have ball point pens until a little later.
Numbers from 1 to 100 on the left side of the page. Across the top of the page I used to write 1 to 100.
Then fill in all the numbers on the rest of the page in order. To multiply I would look at the number on the left and the top and the number where the two came together was the answer.

It took a while to write that but it lasted all year.

Transistor radios came out much later, in the 60s. Before that, there were no portable radios because they needed tubes and batteries were not strong enough. :)

I still use a notebook, a paper one not electronic, to put my appointments and reminders. Then my wife reminds me to look at it. :p

Good morning everyone and happy National Guacamole Day!

...oh, and it's also Thursday.

Same...except for the reminder part!! Well, I remember to look at it most of the time. I like paper. My job is 100% electronic and paperless, which I don't like. Accounting to me was a 14-column ledger and a #2 pencil. Now I have to work in Excel, so I can pretend I have a 14-column ledger, except it has 50-bazillion columns. Not the same.

Had a rough day yesterday coughing up a bunch of “yucky” stuff. Waiting on the Maderna “booster” to be available. I’ll be the first in line to get it.

It is an Asian natural treatment for pain. Modern medicine has failed. At least me it has.
Someone suggested I try medical marihuana but I chose to try kratom instead. It is legal as of now.
and it seems to work for me. I took a lower strength to make sure no bad effects would happen.

Sometimes I pretend I am as strong as I used to be.
I used a hammer drill and mounted some hooks on the back of the house. Then I put the ladder up there.
All by myself.

Then I couldn't move. I took 3 capsules.
Pain is gone now.
My sister takes kratom, because her knee cartilage is gone. Dr's won't get her replacements because she is prone to staph infections. Constant pain always.

Good morning, I think I have no reef chores today. Maybe Mr. Urchin was nice and left the frags alone, so I can just enjoy feeding the fish.

Maybe rethink about my aquascape.
