Good Morning!

Good morning! Whole lot of nothin planned for today since I did all the tank maintenance yesterday Our nemo plakat betta went to fishy heaven yesterday, so I've been doin some homework this morning on a redux for his planted nano tank. Water parms were all good except for pH being pretty high at 8.0. For the rebuild I'll look at things that can tolerate that level as I don't want to rely on dosing to keep it lower.

Beautiful fish - sorry for your loss. FWIW, my FW tanks have stayed at 7.8 for years because that is what they water is here and I have been successful with many fishes including breeding Bettas and many other species so I'm not sure that 8.0 is a big problem as long as it is consistent. On the FW side, a conductivity meter is one of my main go-to's along with floating live plants and regular water changes.

Good morning! I'm trying to start 2020 with a positive attitude....

At least I'm positive it's Monday.

Good morning

I think I will put up the slave doser today. Hopefully I wont break anything. Staying busy by needing to do everything over 3 times to get it right it. Bah. The stand is crooked I put the new 29 gallon on. It really doesn't matter but I know....
I got lots of comments on my beautiful planted tank and even a pm about it.
$20 in Petco stuff so my shrimps are happy before their demise.
Wasn't trying to make a planted tank. 2 of the plants are plastic. Perhaps that is the secret to all those beautiful tank pics on the internet.

perhaps a piece of dritwood

I started looking for some more stuff to put in my tank last night. Mushroom rock with fancy name $600
Tiny tiny hammer $200. Single mushrooms $90. 2 zoas $100.
any 3 things is a colony. Price is 4 times as much.
Nope
Thousands of dollars in my tank. 2 of these I paid $5 for, the others were $20.

Blue ridge is $40 for a tiny piece at LA. I could easily make 50 frags from mine and it would grow back.

There is something bad wrong with this hobby now.

I'll have to grab a conductivity meter and test the water. I wasn't too diligent with water changes once the plants started going strong since they kept nitrates under control. The two nerita snails I have in there are still alive which is kinda making me think maybe it was old age that did him in.

Morning. In case you are still climbing out of the holidays...

Good morning! Sinuses really bothering me this winter for some reason. Can I blame global warming for that? I'd like to blame global warming for the pains in my ankles and my dry, itchy skin while I'm at it. Aging sucks - but as they say...better than the alternative! :)

Morning. Rainy weather has me flaring badly. If it would make up its mind on either staying warm or cold my body could adjust! Turned the reef lights off for a 3 day blackout, hoping it’ll get some of the algae gone. Will do a good waterchange on Friday and slowly start it back up. For now I’m going to be watching this. Good morning
It's snowing here.
Louie went out and I had to go and get him from under the deck. He was crying. He has baby feet.
Meow, meooow, woe is me. Crocs are great in the snow.

I need to catch the trigger. Every time the net shows up he goes in the tube with the eel. It's time for him to go in the big tank. Poor shrimp. I have 4 in there now. He is eating all the ghost shrimp before the lion can get then. He is quick.

You really need to research global warming. You are way off. I know you’re making a joke. I’m just letting you know that you’ve got food stuck in your teeth.

Good morning from the land of gators!
