how often you harvesting appetizers off those?
I am allergic to shellfish and nobody else in the family is brave enough so I think they are safe for now.

do the dark tipped claws mean they are not reef safe?
No, it means they taste good.

Mine are stone crabs from the gulf that came in my live rock, They were tiny when I got them.
They get big.

It is my understanding they are caught and one of the claws removed and then released so it grows back.

Generally reef safe crabs have claws that are not sharp (Mithrax have flat pads) or they do not use them to gather food (porcelain that are filter feeders) or the claws are tiny (Arrow crabs)

In a Catholic school cafeteria, a nun places a note in front of a pile of apples, "Only take one. God is watching."
Further down the line is a pile of cookies.
A little boy makes his own note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

*You gotta read this one out loud!*

What do you call a Frenchman wearing sandals?
