Welcome to R2R:).

I'm not aware of good sites on line. whelks.aims.gov used to be a great place, but I haven't been able to get it to work in years. J.E. Veron's Corals of the World is the source for information on different stony coral species. He has named and classified more than anyone else in the world, I think. Somewhat pricy set of volumes, but worth every penny.

zeovit.com has a pretty extensive database of SPS corals (and others). All by scientific genus and species based on hobbyist ID (so not 100% accurate). If you're really into it, Veron and Wallace both offer reference texts.

Try Staghorn Corals of the World by Wallace. It even comes with a multimedia cd-rom for id reference. This book is totaly devoted to Acropora. And yes it is pricey too, I believe around $200.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
