Jan,
It's really nice.

We tuned the cal reactor's media point back up, to it's old settings after the Alkatronic was in total control.

GLA regulator's solenoid is back staying on, all time.

Pretty much flat lined in Apex Fusion.
Capture.PNG

I'll lower the melting point again, and let the Aklatronic do it's thing when we're out of town.

Seen an Alkatronic paired up with an Dastaco too.

Edit:
Cal and Alk Trends:
Takes a few hours for the in-take to kick in when lights hit the "set" full intensities and roaring by 2pm.
After lights out corals are still in-taking cal and alk, 3 - 4 hours afters lights out.

I would like to hear more about the Alkatronic/Dastaco set up.
The guys at AMS keep saying it is not made to work like that + they are working at their own KH controller.
No idea when that will become available as they are working on it for years now.

Well Jan,
@2una has one with his Dastaco, but I'm not sure if he's still, only using it for monitoring?

This is a quote from the Alkatronc's inventor:

"Jonas Roman Dastaco users most of them do in this way. This is instruction from Dejong using Dastaco with perfect results together with Alkatronic:

“Its quite easy actually.
You have 1 main plug coming from the integra controller. I plugged this into the alkatronic socket.

On the occasion of an to high dkh the alkatronic cuts off power to the integra controller and thus shutting the entire reactor of. If you would plug the socket into the integra controlker itself to lets say shut only the co2 or the dosing pump off you would end up with the integra controller making allot of noise ( beeping alarm) and a hard reset would be needed after the socket would be turned back on.

So plugging the main integra plug into the socket is the best option.”

Not sure if that makes sense, but you would know more than me.
If your alk swings low, then the Alkatronic can dose liquid alk, which is pump D.

Thought the alk controller for your Dastaco would be on the market by now.

Update:

Last week the Hanna alk Checker bit the dust... ;Dead
Already had the Salifert alk kit on hand.

When I mixed the first batch of the Alka-T's reagent, I mixed it wrong... ;Eggonface , but the Baseline Calibration setting pulled that batch out of the hole.

It's been four weeks and have followed Focustronics instructions to a tee (First months break in period). Calibrated the pumps each week and just did the last first months ph probe calibration. So, we'll calibrate the pumps once a month (will get alerts) and the ph probe every six months.

I wanted to mix a fresh batch of reagent. Got it right this time and it matches the Salifert to a tee. So the Baseline Calibration setting is off.

Meanwhile the GEO container made it home. (lol) It's off the hook, but I'm just dumping in the Alkatronic's used reagent in that tank.

We will be using the Salifert alk kit moving forward, but just as an backup and checking new reagent batch mixing.
Besides, I don't think the Hanna refills will last long enough. It deteriorates pretty fast after you open a new reagent and starts giving high readings over time.

Some shots of the GEO ato container:

Wow your reef looks great! The new GEO container came out nice.

Thanks, Crabby

GEO makes some really nice stuff.

It's good to hear from you and hope you've been doing well.

The GEO container looks great. You should buy the new Apex for no other reason than the matching orange :)

Seriously, the reef looks amazing. That hammer is epic and your Achilles is gorgeous.

Thanks, Micheal

You got a new toy... ;Muted and it's time to update your build thread... :D

That is a nifty corner, Freddie.

Does your chiller function well with the exit flow in direction and so close to the wall? Or is it just the photo?
I had mine to turn 180 degrees so the flow went in open air, without obstruction.

Janci,
The chiller is just fine the way that it sits (It's just the way it looks in that photo). The last time it chilled was last summer for the 16 days while our air was out.
It hung in there like a champ and it is really about 10" from that wall. It heats too. I have it set for 78 degrees. When it drops to 77 the heater turns on and if the water his 79 degrees, then it chills the water back down to 78.

I won't run another reef without a chiller. We lost an entire reef in 2008 when our AC went out while we were in Florida on vacation.
Plus this tank came with a ten bulb t5 bulb canopy in 2013.

Make sure to write up a review on the Alkatronic if you haven't already. Hard to find non-biased reviews! Trident reviews are assuredly gonna be from haters or fanboys, we need some in-between!

Tim,
I'll do it at some point. I want a few more months with it.

There will be some cons listed with the Alkatronic too.

That's what I've been waiting for:)

It looks phenomenal man..

Almost as good as my bruins look right now :) not worried about 1 goal or 1 game. We are taking this series.

Freddie, I haven't noticed -- Are you using Coral Essentials as well?

Frankly, I adore the aminos.. Everything else I haven't really tried except the Gro, which is aminos and a few other elements. But Aminos were a stark difference I could see immediately.

You Bruins are on fire. That check that Krug made in the third period was awesome.

I don't know if the Blues can hold up... :(, but we'll find out tomorrow night.

Long road and a lot of games to go before I get too ahead of myself. But a true fan always believes :)
