The new lights made a huge difference. The pics don't do it justice as most things in this hobby.

Greg is your tank 30 inches high if it is. You are not gonna be happy with 60 degree optics on the long run I had a 30 inch tall tank and not until I put 40 degree optics which was recommended by steeve led is were everything got better.

The spread and par im getting is amazing/ more than i need. I doubt that i will go to 40° optics, but i will keep that in mind. Thanks for the suggestion

Its been awhile since i updated this thread. Alot has happen this year and i feel im going in the right direction to have a successful reef tank in the near future.
Equipment purchase this year:
90 diy dimmable full spectrum led kit
WP-40 wave maker
Hannah alk checker
Salifert calcium test kit
Auto feeder (feeds 4x a day)

Coral purchases this year:
MTRC frag swap- strawberry shortcake, yellow/green acro, 12 different zoas mini colonies.

Fish purchase this year-
1 male maldive anthia,3 female sri lanka anthias, 4 blue cardinals, 3 firefish, 1 purple fire fish, 1 blue tang.

The leds and wavemaker have made the corals more colorful and with some good luck and no more bad luck, i should start to see some growth out of these acro frags. Last month i notice that all the acros werent looking as well and were bleaching. After several weeks of water changes and water test, i discovered that my refractometer was off. Once recalibrated i test my salinty, 30ppt!!. So i did 3-30 gallon water changes to get it back to 35ppt. Corals quit bleaching and started to color back up.
This hobby is so challenging, it seems i make 1 step foward and 1-2 steps back. Eventually my luck will turn around and i will have awesome success.

Here are few pics of the tank i took this morning:

Looks great man. Looks even better in person though. It was cool for some of the members to come down after the meeting yesterday and check out the tanks.

Yeah my camera on my phone and myself are far from professional quality. I guess that just gives more members a reason to stop by and see it in person.

Agreed 100%

The tank is looking real good. The pics do it no justice. These are seriously some of the most colorful and healthy fish Ive ever seen. Cant tell if its the diet or the crazy rainbow LED's!

Stay on top of things like salinity, power outages, heater failures and alk swings, and you should have no problems. You have taken your time and have all the right tools to grow some really killer SPS.

I think you are good to go now on corals! LOL

When they start growing out, you are going to have Acro wars going on. Or you are going to have to add some more rock for more real estate.

This tank is going to be unbelievable when things start growing out. I see a future reef of the month spotlight.

In the perfect world i want them to be large softball size 3-6" colonies so i can keep so many different colors. As they grow i will be swapping out some for more of the higher end corals that i come across in the future.
