Hi
Thinking of getting some gsp but 50/50 at the min….. Heard they be like a weed if they take hold in you tank with makes it a pain to control the growth….
Do you think the would be ok on the tower….. my bubble tip is on there aswell so thinking it’ll help to controls it…..
Or am I best either keeping away from it or making a wall area on back of my tank glass away from rocks?
Thanks for taking time to provide any advice..

If you're going to get GSP, put it on it's own rock. Attached is GSP on a tower

Looks good, do you think it’ll be ok on the tower in picture I sent near the nem? Or is it too close to other rocks and do you find it a pain keeping it under control? Also am I correct in saying it can’t travel across sand bed?
Sorry for all questions

GSP grows like a weed and it can be a pain to control. In that pic it's grown across the back glass and around the overflow. Personally, I'ld save your tower for other corals that need varying light requirements. Btw, it can grow across sand bed but not as quickly on rock or glass.

Thanks may try some on the back glass then.

I'm(trying to do/)doing just that and I'm wondering what the growth pattern is. Here's an example in order of the pics.

All colonies(?) came from seeder frag on the overflow.

Pic 1 on glass about 3months ago removed from seeder. Took about 2weeks to establish ~10 polys over an 1" mat(?) Poor growth

Pic 2 on rock initial placement of seeder frag from day 1. Was given this by lfs, because 1 got 10 diffrent frags for 50$ as a welcome to the hobby deal, yay me. Research=none. Now I kinda regret, but not really cause I'd classify the growth as marginal/poor. The polyps here are curly strangely enough and over an 1" long in some spots. This is a year's worth of growth, about.

Pic 3 on the t-rex skull. Decent growth but curling and slowing.

Pic/video 4. On the overflow. Growth is stunning. Idk what it is, but I'd have to go with flow and light placement. This is 3months of growth more than anywhere else although the polyps are shorter... could be I found the sweet spot of growth due to lighting, flow and nutrition concentration.

I think it would be awesome to have a green sheet on the back wall. If you use GSP as the right accent in the right spot it is a stunning contrast to your coral colors.

Np. But how do get such a beautiful GSP carpet/tower
I just glued 2 small frags on the tower, plenty of light and flow and away it went. It's all up and down back wall & over the overflow. I have to trim it back every 6 mos or so or it will actually grow over itself.
