Hello everyone!
I had ordered this coral weeks ago but it was not in stock and they finally sent it to me, it was supposed to be green star polyps. Briareum sp, to be exact. The polyps do look like it but the shape of the "frag" is weird, its like a bunch of branches instead of a plug w a gsp covered rock or something along these lines, and when the polyps open do not have that "grassy" look and they are pretty short. Do you think it's legit but not fully acclimated or grown yet?
I have not glued it in place yet before I'm sure of what it is

So GSP actually is a name that covers many different species. And that’s why they come in many different colors, shapes, and growth forms

The blues make it basically really hard to see what’s going on.

But you have the more rod shaped GSP that tends to encrust and branch.

As for the polyp extension. That’s going to happen more as they adjust to the new tank and grow.

Here’s a thread on this forum https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/branching-gsp-briareum-prune-tie-down-or-let-it-go.691952/

My back glass is covered in gsp and in my experience once it covers everything in a sheet it will begin to grow out in unusual shapes, including “fingers” like yours trying to get more territory.

Thank you all for your quick answers, I have taken an another photo if it helps, I'm sorry about the quality but my phones camera sucks.
So it seems like I'll just have to sit and wait for it to grow an acclimate then.
Is it safe to be glued w superglue on the structure?
