For those of you running this setup, what is the purpose for you with running LEDs? Pure viewing purposes or actual supplementation?

With my new setup I get the PAR I need with the Halide and T5's, but for afternoon viewing neither of those will work as they are too bright. So with that in mind I have yet to purchase my Reefbrites and need a little guidance.

Tank is a 120 4 x 2 x 2. I'm not sure if the XHO's are going to be too much or if the tech would suffice. I plan on getting a dimmer so if too much I can always dial them down. Midway through my tank I am getting about 320 PAR with just the Halides and T5's on. I have the RB Supra Slim T5 fixtures that has a spot between the bulbs for a 48" Reefbrite.

Thoughts?

I have a hybrid setup like you mention. I have the RB LEDs on their module that allows me to control their output via 1-10V. They ramp to 95% while the T5's and MH's run and then back to 1% before shutting down for the day. JP

jporter17, I bought one 60" to connect to my incoming Hamilton Cebu Sun 60" with 3 250W MH and 4x80W T5s. I surmised two was too much, thoughts? Btw, going from pure LED (4 x LX7206s) to this.

They work great for viewing morning and afternoons when the other lights are off and to simulate dawn/dusk. My fixture is only 36” on my 48” tank so I might need two since they don’t cover the entire length of my tank. I don’t find them overly bright, even at 95%. Try one and you can always add another if you feel the need. I have mine dimmed while the T5s and MHs are on. Your other lights will drown them out while they are on. Let us know how you like them.
