I have one torch colony and a hammer colony that for ransom short lengths of time generally during lights on that have polyps shrink or close up totally. I have a big torch colony that is less susceptible to those symptoms that is generally a shower. Alk generally is 8 calc 400 and mag 1400~. Light is a AI Hydra 52 at maybe 60 percent. Nitrates and phosphate is never detectable. I beefed up fish load and feeding a month ago thinking they were starved.
I believe my system is relatively stable but I will tell on myself and say I hand top off. I top off manually about 4 times a day on a system that is maybe 50 gallons total volume. I don’t think it’s a very noticeable swing in chemistry or salinity.
Anyone have suggestions? I also don’t really target feed them. Are some Euphyllia just finicky or am I missing something?
Thanks for any feed back

Anything change recently? Flow patterns? Lighting schedule?
Euphillia like Hammers and Torches do occasionally close or retract for what appears to be no reason, but oftentimes come back just as full as ever once whatever however minor seemed to be bugging them.
