Hammer Coral Help!

Hello,

I have had a new hammer coral for a few weeks. Its been happy up until today, this morning I woke up and it looks like its mouth is extended way out. Pics attached for more information. I just realized as I was writing this post that it may be a part of my hermit crabs molt.... But please let me know what you guys think?

Hey did you get to the bottom of this? It does look like some kind of foreign object to me but I can't really tell.

It was spitting out a piece of my hermit crabs molt. Scared me this morning tho haha. Thanks for the reply.
