Is the new units working as designed? No more faulty readings due to bad reagents?

They are still a little finicky and tend to read high (consistently high at least). I found that if you are careful to eliminate bubbles after the final mixing step before taking the reading, it will read in the expected range.

Mine has been doing great. I spoke with the rep at reefstock Denver and he said the issue was with the manufacturer of their reagents. The new checker should have powder reagent. I ended up buying one at the show and it has been very good. Keep in mind that the checker has a +/- 5% accuracy which is typical with any test in the reef hobby. When you test 1500 magnesium that’s a deviation of 75.

this is why when you test calcium and alkalinity with a Hanna checker that 5% on a lower scale is a more accurate number
