I Figured I'd post a few pictures from when I setup the 180.


I built the stand a bit wider and deeper than the actual aquarium, this
allowed me to have ledges on the side and room for hoses in the back.

The 180 drilled and ready to be painted.

Here is the back painted with Black Rustoleum Oil based paint.
I installled Two Glass Holes 700 GPH Overflows and Two 3/4" Returns.

Here it is set in place and ready for the plumbing to be hooked up.

Here it is with the plumbing installed, and being filled with
RODI Water; being pumped up from the basement sump.

Here you can see the returns better.

And now for the basement portion of the system.

I built a stand to keep the sump up and off the cold floor.
The containers on the left side are for fresh Saltwater Mixing and Top Off.

The Return Pump is a Panworld 150 PS.

Here is looking into the Sump. You can see the MSX250 Skimmer sitting
in a 27 Gallon "Tough Box". The water from the display drains into the
"Tough box" Via the two Spa-Flex hoses on the right.

To the Left of the Skimmer is a Reactor for RowaPhos.

Across the back is a manafold to feed the reactor (and other items).

On the far right of the Manafold is a Bypass to slow down the return
to the display. The bypass allows me to adjust the flow to the display.

Here you can see the drain pipes running down from the "Tough Box" into
the actual sump. The Tough Box is sitting on a couple of milk crates.

I use Four 200 watt Jager heaters set just slightly above 77 Degrees F.

You can also see the Primary and Backup float switches for Top Off Water.

In this picture you can see a 45 Degree pipe that can be roated to quiet
the flow of the water down the drain pipes. by rotating them you can
make the draind almost silent, Without them they are fairly noisy.

On a Side note the "Bulkheads" are made using Electrical PVC fittings since
they use a straight thread and not a tapered thread of regular PVC Plumping.
They are fairly watertight even without gaskets and in this application.
I was not concerned with leakage since they are within the sump.

My RO-DI Unit is an Ocean Reef Miser from The Filter Guys.

It is a Six Stage unitthat puts out 150 Gallons Per Day, and
yes it really does the 150 GPD even with my cold NY water.

My New Frag System.

I used a 50 Gallon Rubbermaid Stock Tank and tied it into the main system
