Well, I suppose it’s time to start the tank thread as I have finally started to work on the tank room.

Here’s what we are working with… 9 x 11 finished basement room. When I bought the house last year, this little room was too small for anything but storage or a little work out room. Now, as a sump/tank support room, it’s perfect! I have power on all 4 walls, easy access to water from the bathroom directly above it, and access to 2 drains.

Great space for a tank room...
...will you be removing the carpet?

Tentative plans for equipment are:

180g peninsula display 6x2x2…I have the tank and have it cleaned up. Its not drilled but I am planning for the big reef savy ghost.
100g sump tank
75g remote fuge
20 – 40g frag tank
20g QT
RODI mixing station…probably two 50g tanks
Reeflow Hammerhead 6,000 GPH…I have about 14’ of head and 25’ of horizontal run, so I figure about 3k at the tank.

I’m going to build this thing from the sump up to the tank, so display pictures and updates will be probably 6 months to 1 year away.

Here we go…

Question on "RODI mixing station…probably two 50g tanks" will they be glass tanks?

Yeah I found some online stores with them, but shipping was almost the same cost as the tank. I wasn't sure if you had found any brick/mortar stores with them.

Good luck with the build! Do you have a way to vent air from that room? Gonna get rather humid.

Yes, it is difficult in a town house. I want a house with a garage and or basement. But basements are hard to come by in south Florida lol. Looks like an awesome room to work in Helenareefer.

Thanks, just lucked into it really. I didn't even have a tank when I bought the house 12 months ago. I was given a little system at Chrismas and it's snowballed from there!

Looking really sweet so far, best thing is you are taking your time and have a dedicated space. Perfect.

Another good place for water storage tanks is plasticmart.com I got 2 100gallon tanks from them. I plan to get more water storage tanks and a sump tank for the new build.
