Hey everyone, my name is Jim. I live on Long Island NY. I've been into the hobby for just over a year. I started out with a 29G Biocube with bad LFS advice. After failing at that attempt I decided to start with a whole new setup that I designed myself, with the help of a great source that I wound up coming across that I now consider a couple of very good friends and they are my main source of everything that I get for my system- so here I am and I have had an enjoyable experience since.
I set up an AGA RR 65G with a 29G sump. I DIY'd my AGA canopy to mount my 2 IceCap pendants, with Pheonix 14K bulbs, 2 39W T-5 actinics, and 2 sets of strings of 5 LED moonglows. I have 2 250W IceCap Ballasts mounted in my stand. I am using a Bermuda Aquatics BPS- 3C skimmer, I have 75 pounds of LR and a 3 1/2 - 4" sandbed. I plumbed it all out with pvc and built the 29G sump with 3 chambers the center one being a fuge with a 6" deep sandbed 50/50 LS and Miracle Mud. In the fuge I have cheato- some grape caleurpa which I tend to get rid of( it came mixed in the cheato) and some LR.
So far the tank is stocked fish wise with
Mated pair of True Perculas
1 Radiant Wrasse
2 Bangaii Cardinals
1 Firefish
1 Cleaner Shrimp
I'm waiting on my fish guys to get me a Lawn Mower Blenny
and am going to put another Cleaner Shrimp in as well as 1 or 2 Fire Shrimp
Corals wise I have
1 Starry Rainbow Chalice,
1 Alien Eye Chalice
1 colony of green zoas (about 50-60 polyps)
1 frag of Tyree Sunset encrusting Monti
1 purple and blue Riccordia
1 Brown Pagoda Cup
1 Octo Frogspawn
1 Granulosa Green Acro and
1 Branching Frogspawn( was supposed to be a Branching Hammer but the company sent me the Frogspawn by accident and is in the midst of taking care of it), so soon to have 1 Branching Hammer as well I guess.
Oh I also have a RBTA- some say it looks bleached because of the white body, I've been feeding it vitamin enriched silversides every time I feed the fish and its starting to color up a little but its mouth is tight and it it has nice and sticky tentacles and responds extremely fast to physical stimuli other than the clowns and has doubled in size in the 4-5 weeks its been in thew tank.
