Welcome to R2R and thanks for joining. One simple way to bring nitrates down is via water changes. Coralline will come in due time.

Gabriel welcome to R2R and the community.:)

Besides water changes I would suggest looking into seeded bio media such as Sipox, Matrax or Life Bio Fil. When I started using this type of media after trying a few other things my nitrates were finely under control. I feed heavy;)

Welcome and thanks for joining.

I bought 3 of my 4 children 180's and they are great to do just about anything one wishes to do. I know you gotta love yours as well.

We've all make mistakes. Shoot, I have advanced degrees in MB, been in the hobby for more than 4 decades and still make errors.

Welcome to reef2reef, @Sal Amadeo.

5-10 N03 is a good target for a reef tank. 0 is bad.

Coraline algae is a good indicator of good water pramameters and lighting, but really doesn't tell you the whole story. Water testing is the best way to measure.

Addition of rocks, snails, frags..... with coraline algae is the best way to get the the ball rolling on it's growth. Adding supplements to enhance it's growth isn't necessary. Good husbandry and time it will grow.
