Howdy! I've also got a 20g AIO. One thing that helped me get rid of the oily film was to drop the water level slightly so that I was getting more flow over the baffles and into the sumo section of the tank. I think the added oxygenation helped.

As for the film, you could try using a paper towel to soak up the oil sheen on top of the water. The other thing that works is take a small cup and stick it in the tank and slowly lower it so that just the top oily water cascades out of your tank and into the cup for removal. May need to do this a few times, however, these tricks work as I have used these methods when feeding my eel and anemones, oily fish
