Hey everyone, excited to finally join Reef2Reef! I'm Scott, the creator of SeaWhatYouSave.com, a website that allows you to compare prices of fish across different online sellers and find the best deal!

I've been reefing for nearly 10 years now and I have a huge soft spot for keeping large, uncommon, and "not-reef-safe" fish. Because we all know this hobby can be very expensive, I'm always searching for a great deal on the fish I'm interested in, but that isn't easy because tools like Google Shopping don't support live fish. I was tired of hopping from site to site to see what's available so I built SeaWhatYouSave.com! The site automatically scans online sellers a few times a day, compares prices and sizes, and highlights both current bargains and historical pricing. It’s become a huge help for my own shopping, and I’m excited to share it with others in the hobby. You can also set up notifications on species, write reviews for purchases you've made, sign up for the weekly newsletter, and post listings for trading livestock and equipment. I'm always on the lookout for ways to improve the site, so I'd love to hear any feedback that you have!

In terms of my own saltwater hobby experience, I have two tanks, a 500 gallon and a Red Sea Reefer 250. They are mostly "fish-only" but have a couple hardy corals in them -- I feed my fish heavily so I have a hard time keeping nutrients down! I've kept a wide variety of species of fish, and there are way too many fish in my tanks to count. My favorites are my large angelfish, especially my 10+ inch Queen Angelfish that I've had for over 4 years now. I also love to tinker around with gear; I've experimented around with UV sterilizers, ozone generators, and even carbon and sulfur denitrators. My 500 gallon has an "estuary", where I've planted a couple salt-tolerant species of plants to see how well they grow. (I've been surprised to discover that Medjool date palms seem to tolerate the salinity just as well as mangroves!) I also have plenty of other pets from outside the reefing hobby -- two freshwater tanks, a pair of tegus, a couple snakes, a colony of Coturnix quail, a dog, and two cats.

Looking forward to being a part of this community and chatting more!
