Yes a new guy, LOL. I have 2 tanks, 1 a 44 gallon corner tank and 2 is a 6.25 gallon nano tank. I have had a salt water tank before many years back and a lot has changed since starting up again. I will post pictures here soon and keep you up to date on what I have and done. You may laugh or call me stupid but i did make a mistake and even the locale fish store didn't catch a problem I had. I even kicked my self in the rear for not remembering this. My tank has a high evaporation rate due to high humidity area i live, so i refilled with salt water, OOPS. yes i was topping off tank but also jacking the salinity rate up also. needless to say when i got my cleaner shrimp it was instant death. I was stumped and so was fish store till i took a water sample. Hey everything was OK except for salinity...... 1.032, ouch. OK now my issue to let everyone know where my mistake was, I had a Fluval inside tank salinity tester and it read 1.023 - 1.024. Boy was it wrong, it's now blown to pieces with a little help from a 9 mm round. I bought a refractometer so I know what I have. Both tanks are doing great now and fish are happy.
