I am thinking of buying a Joker nem, maybe next week. However, I was reading around that tank maturity it still something people emphasize for anemone keeping (6 months to a year). Is it fine for keeping one this early or am I pushing it?

dang, that's a shame. Would have loved to just go out and grab one. 30 anemones sounds like an insane amount.I added my Joker around week 1 or 2 but most of my water and rock and sand came from tanks I had running.
Wish you were closer, I've got 30+ Jokers in my sump.
Jokers stay small - usually under 3" in my experience. They split before hitting that 3" mark. Fast growers split frequently.dang, that's a shame. Would have loved to just go out and grab one. 30 anemones sounds like an insane amount.
How frequent is the splitting, if you have been tracking? Is it like every month or two?Jokers stay small - usually under 3" in my experience. They split before hitting that 3" mark. Fast growers split frequently.
Intermittent. I have 1 in the DT that has split 5 or 6 times now. It went from 1 in 3 months to 4 by 4 months and now 6 or 7 in a year and a half. How frequent is the splitting, if you have been tracking? Is it like every month or two?

I've seen Nem Cannon mentioned around, but now I am curious what it is. I will have a look just for fun.Mine settle in and rarely move until they split. I just removed one yesterday and threw it in the sump with the bulk of the rest of them because he settled on my acrylic Zoa rack which made him easily removable. Unfortunately the one I need to remove is right in the middle of my Stratosphere Zoa rock and my false Blue Raven Blastos which means using a Nem Cannon or something...

That looks amazing dude!! How are you liking the stand so far?Hi all,
I am getting started on my Hello Reef 15-gallon tank as an intro into the hobby. Just got the tank and stand set up (no water yet) and built an aquascape. Not sure about stocking plans right now and just following the videos until it cycles. I was thinking of just following the two clownfish and the clean-up crew. Got 20 gallons of RODI water sitting next to the tank right now and hoping to make some progress this week.
For equipment, the kit came with:
I also bought:
- Eheim Jager 50W heater
- Sicce Micra Plus Return Pump
- Sicce Voyager Nano
- A filter sock (already have 2 more, so 3 total)
- Refractometer
- Temperature Strip for side of tank
- Scraper (Handheld one)
- AI Blade light
- Carib Sea Rock (8pcs)
- 10lbs of Carib Sea Fiji Pink Sand
- 16 Gallons worth of Aqua Forest Reef Salt
- Bag of Bio Media
- Bag of Activated Carbon
- 2 Large sponges for back chamber
- The extra filter socks I mentioned
- A Kasa smart power strip
- Handheld HM TDS Meter
- Magnetic Scraper with temperature readout (from Amazon)
- 2 5 Gallon Buckets from Home Depot (with 1 lid)
- 1 2 Gallon Bucket from HD
I am terrible at giving consistent updates, but I hope any readers can bear with me here.

What an interesting concept, thought it was more... cannon-like than that. Always nice of people to find safer ways to move them.Nem Cannon thread

Safe and Easy DIY way to remove Nems
Due to seeing numerous post recently about how to remove anemones and shrooms without hurting them or destroying rock work. I felt like this was in order. First off, a little back story. Years ago, when I lived in Florida and collected aquatic life on a regular basis, we always had issues with...www.reef2reef.com
The stand is nice, but my flooring is uneven, so I just put a big yard stick under the right side of the stand, when you are facing it. I do wish I had one more shelf; it comes with 2. It could also be that I should plan it out better. I have the top shelf (smallest space) for fish food containers and specimen cups. The second space is for my smart plug since it is chunky. The final bottom space is for my salt and test equipment. Not a bad stand, gets the job done. That looks amazing dude!! How are you liking the stand so far?
Mine are everywhere. I let them roam. I'm assuming your fear is them plugging up the return pump?Seems my trochus snails had babies. I am finding them in every place imaginable. Some on the glass, some on the rock, some in the rear pump area too. Wondering what to do with the ones in the rear filtration areas…
Yeah, or just dying back there. Seems like a place with no algae.Mine are everywhere. I let them roam. I'm assuming your fear is them plugging up the return pump?Seems my trochus snails had babies. Trochus aren't dummies like Turbo snails. They find a way to survive.Yeah, or just dying back there. Seems like a place with no algae.
I will believe in them. They seem content or exploring for a way over to the main display.Trochus aren't dummies like Turbo snails. They find a way to survive.
