Hi. Been lurking for a while. Just set up pico 8.3 gallon tank a month ago. Used Marco’s live rock and live sand. The tank cycled in about two weeks. Put a clean up crew of snails, emerald crabs, and hermits in. Plan is no fish given the size, only zoas (zoa garden thing). Might start adding a few zoas in a week or two.

Had a larger reef tank 25 years ago and another pico about ten years ago. Amazed at the advances in tech for this hobby.
LED lights are fantastic. I got a 60watt LED for my tank and have to really tone it down for the amount of PAR in my tank. 25 years ago lighting was a pain in the butt issue, at least for me.

My tank is running very low nitrate and phosphate. I have started dosing both slowly. So far no improvement. Given the lack of fish I imagine I will need to dose both to maintain the zoas.

Have enjoyed lurking and look forward to actually being a member of the forum.
