Yeah, I just saw Reef-Pi. I cant wait to give that a shot. Never played with a Rasberry Pi before but only because I haven't really had the need for one but this looks like the best excuse to get one.
In addition to building some of my own LED lights, I worked with a friend to build a dawn/dusk controller on a 10g fry tank where the LED lights come on and go off over 10 minutes. Obviously there are other controllers that do this, but for a $20 learning experience it was a good project. The next project is to use a Raspberry Pi and aquarium meters for continuous data logging of basic parameters. Clearly, I agree that this is a great excuse to get a small control board and test the limits of your creativity!
