Someone please tell me what’s wrong with my snail!
I have two (turbo?) snails, one is acting completely fine! There’s plenty of algae in here for them too. This one was upside down in the sand last night, seeming to try and grab onto the rock. I moved him next to a rock so he could easily get onto it but the next morning he was still in the sand. So I took out about 5 gal of water (it’s a 14g tank) and then I picked up my snail and put him ON TOP of a rock where he would stay secure. Then refilled the tank.

he has been moving so it’s not like he’s been still but something is wrong with him and I have this stupid bristle/fire (whatever) worm who is trying to get my snail!! But he’s not dead… so why is it trying to attack him??

pics aren’t great. Best I can do… pls help

Also it’s not like he’s weak I don’t think because this stupid worm is right next to my snail and when my snail just now tried to come back out of his shell, he VERY quickly went back in because of this worm, that I’m about to get out of the tank at this point. Didn’t think they could be harmful.

I would maybe check your magnesium levels. Sometimes if they are too high it can cause snails to act lethargic. Just a thought. Otherwise I am not sure.

I actually don’t have a magnesium test kit.. all I have is salinity, ammonia, & nitrate because I don’t have coral so I didn’t think I needed anything else :/ can you tell what kind of worm this is? It has clearish bristles coming off it and it’s half-red half-black on the body.

I notice when I stir up the water and make some of the detritus go into the water, my snail will come out more. Maybe he’s hungry from being on his back but my other turbo is fine and moving around the glass

Doesn't look like it's gonna make it :( hard to say what it could be .. how long have you had it?
I just don’t get it because the other snail is totally fine so I can’t understand why this one sick suddenly :(

plus this stupid worm is all over him and that doesn’t help anything…

ive had him for about a year, maybe a little less but he was not from a fish store, my dad took him out of his tank and put him in mine, before I got the tank (Long story, if you care to know it’s on my build thread for the 14g). He was not sick when I got him from my dad. And my dad also didn’t QT the snail but he’s been normal and fine in my tank for a whole year until two days ago.

My snails got something similar. I lost all my snails. They will constantly flip. The turbos appeared to have some sort of paralysis on their foot. They werent able to move with a straight foot while on glass or rocks. They were moving using the borderline of the foot. They got difficulties to eat. I did an ICP but couldnt identify any contaminant. After 2 weeks, I added 10 trochus. They are starting to flip, but is too early to conclude is the same.
