I don't see where you are testing tds. If it is once the water has gone into a storage container the tds could be high and still good water. A tds of 2 as it leaves the di is to high me. My ro membrane produces 1-2 ppm before di so my di lasts a long time.
Oh makes sense, my RO I think when I first tested it was making like 5 or 10

Hi guys, it has been a month sorry for the late response. I have checked the TDS straight out of the RO instead of out of the DI like I was doing earlier and it is showing me 8-9PPM. From what I know, that is normal so do you guys think it might just be my DI resin?

Yes. That’s what I’ve been saying.

You need a DI Resin to get to 0 ppm. Even if your membrane failed, you DI resin would likely still bring it near 0 ppm; it would just exhaust sooner.

Since the DI wasn’t exhausted, it was likely elevated because of channeling in the DI — you need to pack it very tightly.

Ok, so I should swap out the DI resin? Any DI resin recommendations? I would order from BRS but then I would also have to pay shipping.

Any mixed bed resin DI should work. I prefer color changing so you know when it’s exhausted.

It should be a struggle getting the cartridge closed; that’s how compacted the DI resin should be.

If your current DI isn’t exhausted, just add more resin and press it down HARD. It should be very hard to twist the cartridge closed. :)

Ok, also I bought the DI straight from BRS so the DI that was pre installed was color changing. The color is not very changed like only the bottom is brown but the rest seems fine. Can I use the RODI to do my water change tomorrow? Or should I wait until I order DI resin.
