Help? RODI Unit problem

Its a kent max rodi system. I did install the new 100gpd flow restricter but I didn't use any lubricant when putting the membrane in. :( and that's probably why I can't get it to budge. Any idea how I can remove it without breaking the housing?

Wrap a rag or some tape around the nipple on the membrane end then slowly work it out with a pair of channel lock pliers so you don't gouge or scar the plastic. Wash the membrane housing out with warm soap and water once you have it out.

Ok. The membrane is telescoped so it's damaged.... how on earth does one remove this membrane now ? D:

I would suggest a Spectrapure Select series membrane if you need to replace yours. They have both 98% and 99% plus guaranteed versions that have been specially treated then hand tested so you know you are getting only the best. Buckeye Field Supply also offers tested high rejection rate membranes now too. If you don't have a line on one yet I would look at a handheld TDS meter too as they really tell the story of membrane and DI condition.

Thank you. It's untelescoped but still not moving otherwise. I will get a TDS meter for sure. This membrane cost me $70. I hope I can save it. My nearest LFS is about an 50 min to an hour away. They tend to pray on people like me in a hurry for something...

If it telescoped it is ruined.
Spectrapure membranes start at about half that and are much more efficient since they are specially treated and tested. After owning 6 different RO or RO/DI systems I will not even consider anything else ever again. There really is a difference.
Their guaranteed hand tested 99% removal version is only $52 on sale and they are the only vendor to offer anything close to that and with a written guarantee.

I still can't get this one out of the housing. One of my kids will be home in 10 minutes and I will have her hold it while I try to work it out. In the meantime, I need top off water and will be picking some up from a guy 20 minutes from me. He sells it for .25pg which is good. But the gas in my truck is a wallet killer.
