The capillary tail coming loose from the body is not something we typically see. Could it happen? Sure. They are two poly pieces joined with an adhesive.

We have them here: https://www.buckeyehydro.com/capillary-flow-restrictors/

Ok thanks for that
Because you have a 100 gpd membrane, and because you---will--- have 70 psi, even if you have reasonably cold water you may get over 100 gpd. So if you want something close to a 4:1, opt for the 100 gpd restrictor. If you want less concentrate, or your water is much colder than the 58F I guestimated, you might opt for a 75 gpd restrictor. Also consider the level of hardness in your feedwater. You could also get a 75 and a 100 restrictor and use the 75 during winter and the 100 during summer.

Thank you, this is what I will do, I’ll get the two of them. Also does it come on a fitting? Excuse my ignorance in this but I know the fitting I have (with the green protruding out of it) is part of the fitting, or this is what it seems, or do I have to remove this green piece and install the new one?
Also do you have this as well? But the proper plastic one?

Carefully remove the collet (ring on the fitting that you push the tube through) with your fingernails or a tool - it simply can be pulled out of the fitting, Grab the green part with a needle nosed pliers and pull it out. It is just being held in place by friction w/ the little rubber oring. The new restrictors you buy will push INSIDE the 1/4" tube that goes between your two tee fittings.

That fitting you show in the pic above is called a hose bib adapter. We have them in brass and in poly. Both versions have quick connect ports rather than the compression style you show above. https://www.buckeyehydro.com/feedwater-fittings/

@Buckeye Hydro i do think have the spectrapure 90gpd and psi is around 80. I should opt for the 100gpd? I just ordered that one. Maybe I should have got the 150 and just cut if needed.
That "90 gpd membrane" is actually a 75 gpd membrane but the vendor told you to run it at 10 psi over the manufacturer's spec. Guess what - run any filmtec 75 at 10 psi over spec and it will produce about 93 gpd. MEASURE what your membrane actually produces with your pressure and temperature. Consider your water hardness before you start choking off the concentrate too much.

Ok if I may trouble you one last time ( not promising lol) but wile I was performing my tests I managed to dig myself into a deeper hole. Can this be repaired? If so would you have this part available as well?

Snap is right… dang lol. Ya another setback in the wonderful Rodi saga.

I’m hoping @Buckeye Hydro has this piece.
This is usually a 1/4” NPT “nipple” fitting!

In my case the flush valve wasn’t open and the filters I bought are a generic brand I did get on amazon. Now the sediment filter wouldn’t be an issue as I’ve got a bunch of them I bought a while back and have replaced a few without issues. I did replace the rest and presto, water pressure drop.
I’ve inspected all lines, fittings and filters numerous times but nothing changes…
It’s an anomaly indeed but I will keep testing and get this sorted out. Hopefully 🤞
I jumped back and at the relative beginning . so just remove one filter at a time and check . I see other ideas coming up but according to this you did not remove and reinstall anything . I did not know about the auto Matic shut off that uncommon sense is talking about . When I had a problem with mine which is an entirely different animal as it is zero waste meaning it fights line pressure to work and its normal supply is 24 gallons a day , At any rate AI did mention reduced supply pressure being an issue so I am going to install a gauge .

It’s a check valve . The same thing that I suggested you soak in vinegar for 10 minutes as it might have a calcium build up
Yes, absolutely you did mention it thanks again for that suggestion … at the moment I’m down for a bit in regards to moving forward with it as I broke the Hex nipple piece tinkering with the unit today so I will do all these suggestions once back up and running.

So i may be wrong but I watched a video on your system and my apologies if this has been addressed but I think that that is a flush line
So possibly in my opinion, but I could be wrong myself as I’m not 100% sure on the mechanics of a rodi unit. But this is where it is on the line. So basically out from the membranes waste side and travels through the flush or straight through the exit line.

But at the same time I believe this is where the flow restrictor is supposed to be positioned. Again I may be incorrect. Still a learning experience for sure.

Yes I believe it does but if I’m not mistaken I believe there are different types, if I read the post earlier correctly…

I hope you’re not dealing with the same frustration I am lol

I have no idea why a check valve. I don’t have that on mine. I have auto flush using my booster pump.
