Help to id something black and hard on hammer coral's skeleton

Hi just noticed this little stuff on my hammer's skeleton, at first I thought it's some worm and tried to wipe it off but it's something hard that doesn't come off. Any idea what this may be ?

Actually now I think about it I have seen this before , it must gotten much bigger that I forgot of seeing it before

Looks like a vermetid snail
I searched images for vermetid snail but most of pictures doesn't look like what I have there. But I do found this Reddit post that has very similar looking, And judging by the descriptions of vermetid snails, it's likely going to be it. Although I still want to see if others have different opinions

I swear it doesn't look that creepy in person. Looking at the photo myself right now it creeps me out now
Most people remove them because they let out a web of mucus that irritates and can cause death in corals sometimes
