Hey there, I have a 93g Cube 30" x 30" x 24" - Tank will be a Mixed reef

Prior I ran an 8x24w ATI Sunpower. I have decided to swap to LEDs. I bought a Radion XR30 Pro G4. I am trying to decide between two options and was curious what people think the best option is.

Option #1 buy a 2nd XR30 and run two over it. I think I would have plenty of light running two radions.

Option #2 is add the reefbright XHO kit pictured below.

XHO-K30 LED Add-On Kit - For XR30 - Reef Brite

I think 2 XR30's on that will be like a supernova to your corals. I have 3 XR15's over a 4 foot 108g tank and it lights up the whole room. The XR30's are good for a 30x30 tank... I'd go with option 2.

Thanks. I was hoping the reef brite option would be the best one. I really didn’t want to buy another xr30 but just wanted to make the right choice.

I can tell you right now from experience, one XR30 Gen 5 on that cube will put out more par than you'll ever need and spread. Two will be overkill and you'll have to dial it down a lot.

I would start with one, you'll be happy and so will the corals.

****Edit, I skimmed too fast and you have a G4. I still think that will be enough. ****

Thank you all for your comments. I went ahead and ordered the Reefbrites just because I think it needs more fill light. The shadows in the tank with just the XR30 are just too much.

Good deal. Would love to see a pic of the single G4 mounted over the cube.
