Help with a plumbing leak

https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/noisy-overflow-please-help.796588/
here's another thread with the same brand of tank. Looks like at the bottom of the overflow there's a large bulkhead with separate connections for drain, return..etc. It could be that the connections use proprietary threading so that threaded to slip adapter won't screw in tightly even with tape or sealant.

If you bought it from the LFS have you reached back out to them about it?
Great find

Make sure your bulkhead doesn't have any microcracks. This can happen from screwing the nut on too tight. Use primer on your connections if you weren't already. And also, make sure you use adequate glue. Sometimes the answer is more simple.

1. You do need to use tape or TFE paste on ALL threaded plumbing fittings.
2. Is that pipe PVC or ABS? ABS glue is not compatible with PVC
3. If it is truly PVC you MUST use the cleaner/ primer first then the glue. If you do not it will not bond.

Hey guys!!
first of all, I want to give a big thank you to all of you who helped me out.
After a couple of tests, the solution was to add sealing rings to it, and tweaking around how tight it was so after a day of testing it I finally sorted it out!
Again I want to thank you guys very much!!!
