I'm looking to get rid off the MH's off my 75g now that it's no longer going to be my main display, and it's going to be used as a frag tank. I've never done DIY LEDs before. Can anyone give me a ball park price range it will cost to cover a 48" 75g that will house mainly sps frags?

The price range is similar to a hotel price range as it is varied as the hotel price range in Cancun....

You pay for what you get.

If you go cheap DIY LEDs you have less efficiency and after two years they will be more expensive given electricity costs of at least $.26 KWH.

I would recommend two quality Cree 25-36 LED fixtures. These have a build range of $250-350 each depending on options. This is the rough equivalent to a 175-250 watt MH and consume less than half the electricity without the heat.
