Hey so I prepared to do my first water change to my 40 gal and had already mixed the salt in the buckets then I had an emergency which led to the mixed water sitting in the covered bucket for a week and a half uncirculated, Is it still okay to use?

If it is not a large water change then I would turn a pump or powerhead on to recirculate the water for a day or two, and then just double check the salinity and PH before adding it in. If it is a larger water change then you might want to remake the water to be on the safe side.

If it sat for a week, I'd give it a quick 5-10 minute remix and then test for salinity levels again just to verify if there's been any evaporation. I know you said it was covered but it's not a bad thing to check.

I have used salt that sat mixing for 2-3 weeks (not Red Sea Reef Pro though, it was a different brand), added some water to get back to my desired SG, and did the water change.

Completely fine… one of my customers sits for a couple weeks with no circulation as I’m only there every 2 weeks and there’s issues.. just circulate it good before you use it.

One week is normally fine, if you did not smell anything weird or the water does not turn into color. Check the salinity as others suggested.

I agree with it being fine to use.
My mixed saltwater sits for a month or so uncirculated. It tests the same every time.
Randy Holmes-Farley had a post about this.
