Hi All,

I wasn't sure if this was the right place to ask this or if it belongs in the lighting section. The LED's I have over my tank are quite old (in LED terms) and some of the LED's are starting to fail or lose intensity.

When I was given these two fixtures (Maxspect G1 160W) that have 3 channels 1 white, 1 blue and 1 for two 30W white.

I had a 3rd fixture that I scavaged parts from to keep the 2 in service over the tank, but I have run out of spare parts and am looking for some help on how to map what these had in there, to parts available.

I've gone through sites like RapidLED and the like but none of the LED's seem to match the specs I have in hand (uploaded).
Can someone give me a hand in determining what specs I need to look for in replacement LED's that will work within the existing fixture and power?

I'd like to have 3W Soft white, Royal Blue, UV/Violet and try to find the big 30W Cool White so that I can get the fixtures back to full song, and have a good amount of replacement parts on hand.

Thanks!

Shaummy

I am not sure how much this will help you but whenever I am trying to find a specific part. I will shoot an email to mouser or digikey sales team with what I need. They usually respond in a few days with the appropriate parts. Searching through trying to find a specific individual replacement LED chip can be some work.

You should look for Forward voltage and current. It seems like the ones you have on hand are as follows.
30W White = 29ish to 36Max Forward Voltage, 1000ma Current
3W White = 3.1 to 3.7 Forward Voltage, 700ma Current
3W Blue = 3.2-3.6 Forward Voltage, 700ma Current
3w Violet = 3.1-3.7 Forward Voltage, 700ma Current

As long as you keep close to these specs, you should be good to go. Also, make sure the new LEDs are the same formfactor as the old LEDS. This should get you close enough. If you have any questions, I'll follow this thread, so just post them here.

Awesome...this is exactly what I was looking for since so many of them had different voltages listed. Thanks for the help!

No problem. Building custom lights is one of my favorite parts of this hobby lol. I just finished the prototype of this build. 100watt multi color single chip. Let me know how it turns out!

I seem to have found all the 3W ones on Amazon and other places but I'm having a bit of an issue finding the high power 30W array. Are there any "go-to" sources that you use for your projects? I can find 30W LED's but the temp range is not anywhere near the 16000K range. The ones that are in the fixture look sort of like this one.

30w at 16000k is kind of a custom chip. I would just get one of these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/30W-Cold-W...489908?hash=item3cebf12fb4:g:RkoAAOSwLa9UX-s5

Its the right voltage and current but it is 20000k. This means it is shifted more blue than the 16000k but that should actually benefit you.
