Hi!
Been dealing with a red stringy nuisance since march, came along low nutrients. Got these pictures with a 40x microscope at work. Good enough for an id? Think I know what it is, but don't want to introduce bias to answers. Thanks in advance!

I would say cyanobacteria from the Oscillatoriaceae family - maybe mixed with some from the genus spirulina. However - it is difficult to say - some looks like they have heterocyst's - but is difficult to judge from these pictures. Here is a picture and this below is from Wikipedia

With the quality of the photo I was hoping to be able to differentiate between dinos and cyano, not getting close to the exact family. A big thank you for not only the answer, but also the picture for future reference!
(Eller ska jag säga, stort tack?)

Red stringy stuff definitely sounds more like cyanobacteria than dinoflagellates.
