Hiya!

Yesterday for the first time, I noticed one of my clowns looking slightly fuzzy against the bright light of the window behind the tank. It was only very light. Today, I noticed that the clear parts of his fins are looking less clear and he is generally more fuzzy. Is it brook? Do I have to stress? Otherwise his behaviour seems fine. He still eats. The other clown bullies him quite a bit and chases him away from the food a lot, but he does snatch a piece here and there. He also has chosen to sleep right behind the wavemaker, so I worry maybe that could have hurt his fins? I can't see any symptoms on the other clown.

I have not had these guys for very long at all (2ish weeks) and they are my only fish in this tank atm. I have one cleaner shrimp and a handful of corals/ snails/ hermits. I got these guys from a local breeder. He said they are about 4 months. I don't have a quantine tank, but I do have a little glass cube (originally a bug vivarium) and a spare heater (no spare filtration though) I could maybe repurpose.

I attached a video of him.

Someone please help. I worry about the little guy :crying-face:

Edit to add water parameters:
Amonia = 0
PH = 8
Nitrate = 10
Nitrite = 0

Temp = 25.5 C

Thanks!

I can see individual spots, this looks like it is marine ich, Cryptocaryon. However, can you post a video of the other clown? In virtually all cases, although fish don't develop ich always at the very same time, they will all become infected.

I can't see well from the video, but does the fish have small white spots in close proximity around the tail and fins?

Please post you tube video under bright white light intensity. Typically ich or secondary bacterial lesions associated with brook. Video Will disclose

Hi thanks so much! I tried my very best to get some better videos/ pics of them under white light. I also got a close up of the one with the issues and attached that also. Hopefully some of this is helpful! I really appreciate the help!

Unfortunately, this is indeed ich. You want to place fish in Quarantine tank and treat with Coppersafe or Copper Power at therapeutic level 2.25 For a FULL 30 days (do not interrupt this 30 day period) monitored by a reliable Copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.
The display tank will have to be kept fishless (FALLOW) for 6-8 weeks to assure the existing parasites go through their life cycle without a host fish and die off and with occupants exposed, they too should go into quarantine and be treated
A quarantine tank can be as simple as a tank from a second hand store or a starter kit from Walmart which most of the needed essentials.
