Yea my cal stays at 400, kh was 6 to 7 and mag was 1250....and im wanting to start addi,g acans and stuff so wanted to start keepi,g it checked and persistant a couple weeks b4 adding them and then ill have the equipment to dose when theyre added

What kind of salt do you use?
Was using coral pro but i set up a mixing station few days ago to start keeping salt water always mixed and ready so i can do weekly water changes instead of monthly. I wanna do 5 gall a week instead of 20 a mnth. The red sea coral pro cant stay mixed like that it gets white and cloudy so i just switched to inst ocean reef crystals to give it a try...when this happened and i did the 2 32 gall changes right away i used the io reef crystals. I checked hour ago my kh is at 10, my cal is at 450, and my mag was at 1400. So im thinking im gonna like this new salt. Ph was at 8.2 too which i always have trouble keeping it over 8. So with weekly water changes im hoping i can keep everything stable now and then strt adding some lps. I only have 2 zoas, i gsp, and 1 mushroom at the moment.
be wary of dosing with coral pro salt. It will make up to 11 or so dkh. acclimate corals longer in it or they will bleach (lps and sps) also, if youre going to run alk high, run your nutrients low.
unless you have big sps colonies, you shouldnt have to dose anything.
I have 6 frags of sps, 3 acan colonies, 12 acan frags and a few scolys, I dont have to dose anything and I WC 5% once a month. I switched from coral pro because of high dkh issues. Now I run at 9.2-9.4 and 5-10 nitrates. Just my 2 cents :)

I'm using Instant Ocean reef crystals now. Started this week. But before when I was using coral Pro and doing 30% water changes every four weeks my dkh would stay at 7 my calcium would stay at 400 and my magnesium was 1200 and these are the numbers from the coral Pro salt it just wasn't working for me. I have no idea why my numbers were so low. I was use Ro di water and coral Pro salt and getting those numbers. I do have 90 pounds of live rock and 75% of it is covered in coralline algae the purple pretty kind I'm wondering if that's what was sucking up all the nutrients. But I'm going to monitor it for the next month and do 5-gallon water changes once a week using the new Salt the Instant Ocean reef crystals and see if my numbers are staying better and consistent. I might not even have to dose for now with weekly water changes and the new salt. I guess that Coral Pro salt just wasn't working with my system for whatever reason.
Anytime I checked my nitrates they always say 0 I use Red Sea test kit. But yet every 5 to 6 days I have to clean my glass front and back because it will have brown algae on it. I can't figure out why I have brown algae but my nitrates a zero. And it's not really a lot just enough to make the glass look a little rough over a five to six day time frame. I run a cup and a half a gfo in a reactor constantly changing the gfo out every month. So it's odd to me that nitrates read zero but still have a little bit of brown algae I'll get a little bit of green hair in my Sump to but I usually remove it manually when you see it all use a piece of cloth grab it and tried to pull it out without anything spreading so far I've not had any green hair algae in my tank just my Sump area where I keep some chateau algae.
