HI! ANYONE ALSO LOVES JAWFISH?

Welcome !!!I love Jawfish, especially the Pearly variety which are very well suited to Reef Aquariums, mind you if you have a sand bed and don’t mind them occasionally covering your corals with sand or moving mounds. As it’s been mentioned, they are jumpers and all it takes is the sliver of an opening for them to make it out. I even had a net enclosure on top of my reefer 350 and just a quarter inch gap was enough for one to jump through.

There also is the opportunity for spawning if you can manage to get a pair! They’re mouthbrooders!

Welcome to the R2R community! I’ve got a Pearly. Named Joe Burrows.

Hey! I was actually looking at adding one but speaking with a LFS owner he said they always jump. They typically visit tide pools and will jump pool to pool looking for food. Guess it’s a natural instinct for them to jump!
